Weight Loss and Exercise in Frail Obese Elderly Subjects
Purpose
of study:
This study at looks the effects of weight loss and physical training on
physical function, body fat and bone metabolism in overweight, elderly
persons
Eligibility
Criteria:
65-80
Years of Age
40-100 Pounds Overweight
Must Not Exercise Regularly
Must Not have Heart Disease or Diabetes
Must Not Weigh More Than 300 Pounds

Participation
in the study will involve:
Study duration = 1 years
Phone screening
Orientation sessions
Medical examinations (including cardiovascular, physical function and
frailty,
and body composition testing)
Benefits:

Compensation:
Completion of study = up to $600 (if three optional muscle samples are
